How do we grow lettuce in water?
We grow MyPonic lettuce with hydroponics. Inside the growing channels, water and nutrients reach the roots through a nutrient film technique (NFT) system.
Water, with nutrients
In hydroponics, roots receive nutrients from a water-based solution instead of relying on soil. The nutrient solution is water containing the elements the plant needs to grow.
What is NFT?
NFT stands for nutrient film technique. A shallow flow of nutrient solution passes along the base of a growing channel, touching the roots with air space above. This is the principle illustrated in the root view on our product pages.
